Phillip Brooks currently serves as Deputy Director General, Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs. He is an indigenous community member and a descendant of the Bidjara Tribe (Great Grandfather), the Kairi Tribe (Great Grandmother), and the Ducabrook Clan located at Springsure Central Queensland.

Phillip has had a distinguished career in the child, youth and family support portfolio. He started his career as an officer with the Queensland Police Service and, after years of service, moved into Child Protection.

He spent a considerable part of his career serving in various Youth Justice programs with the Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Multicultural Affairs, and as a member of the Crime Reference Committee for the Crime and Corruption Commission before transitioning into Child, Family and Community Services.

Phillip studied through the Australian Institute of Business, and holds an Executive Masters in Public Administration.
