PMSA launches new venture to foster groupwide student activities

The PMSA is excited to announce the launch of PMSA Activities, a new enterprise to establish a platform for all PMSA schools (Brisbane Boys’ College, Clayfield College, Somerville House and Sunshine Coast Grammar School) to participate in groupwide co-curricular activities together.

The inaugural program to be founded under PMSA Activities, is a Sailing program, which is set to begin in Term 4, 2023.

The new PMSA Activities Sailing Program is initially open to our three Brisbane based schools from Years 5 to Year 12 and is designed to teach students the basics of sailing, from rigging and boat handling to navigation and racing tactics.

The program will be led by experienced, accredited sailing instructors and based at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, Manly.

“We are thrilled to offer this unique initiative to our students and kick off PMSA Activities with a Sailing Program, which is a great way for our students across our schools to experience sailing and develop their teamwork and leadership skills while having fun on the water,” PMSA Chief Executive Officer, Mr Shane Coppin said.

“We are confident our students will benefit from the Sailing Program, and we hope to see many of them take advantage of this opportunity to develop their sailing talent,” he said.

PMSA Activities has the support of the participating schools and their communities and has the potential to expand its programs as the needs arise.
