The PMSA Board would like to announce that John Hamilton has been appointed to the PMSA Board by the Presbyterian Church of Queensland effective from February 2023.
Mr Hamilton has more than 20 years’ experience teaching and leading in secondary schools and faith-based organisations.
Currently, he is the Director of Technology at Mt St Michael’s College where he has been able to embrace the best of technological enhancements in the IT sector to create cutting edge technological opportunities and systems for staff and students.
Throughout his career, Mr Hamilton has held several leadership positions as Head of Department, Director of Technology & Data Analysis, Director of Technology and Senior School ICT coordinator. With a Certificate IV of Training and Assessment, Bachelor of Engineering (Computer and Electrical Systems), and a Bachelor of Education, Mr Hamilton has a wealth of educational and data analysis experience.
He has been involved in schools in Europe and Australia and brings his skills as both an educator and as a computer engineer to help schools integrate the best of technology into the classroom and administrative space.
Mr Hamilton is deeply enthusiastic about incorporating Christian values into education and recognises the tremendous benefits they offer to both students and their families.
“I’m excited to be joining the PMSA Board and look forward to bringing my expertise and passion for faith-based education to this governance role,” Mr Hamilton said.
The PMSA is governed by a Board which comprises of up to 8 members. Three Board members are appointed by the Presbyterian Church of Queensland and the Uniting Church and up to two members are directly appointed by the PMSA Board. Each Board member is a volunteer and holds office up to three years per term.
