Dodging storms and checking COVID-safety at every step, the Christian Fellowship groups from Somerville House, Brisbane Boys’ College (BBC) and Clayfield College met on the weekend at Clayfield College for an evening of food, fun and Christian fellowship.
There was great excitement and anticipation, as it was the first time in nine months that these groups were able to meet.
Around 80 Years 7 – 11 students from the three schools enjoyed a pizza dinner hosted by Clayfield College, followed by devotions and singing led by the newly-installed BBC ISCF student leaders.
Schools were mixed and divided into teams for an energetic round-robin competition of Volleyball, “King of the Court” style. Competition was fierce, energy levels ebbed and flowed, and a final play-off between the winning teams on each court produced a winner.
Hand-sanitiser was in abundance, and the balls were sanitised after every rally. In this strange COVID year, it was great to be able to resume this valued part of our Christian fellowship program.
These activities, usually held once a term, provide a great opportunity for us to fulfil our goals of encouraging each other in faith, challenging each other to follow Jesus closely and share his love with others.
