Robotics students from Brisbane Boys’ College and Somerville House introduced Kat Feeney from ABC Radio to the world of automated robots yesterday following their respective wins at the Robocup Regional Heats on Saturday.
Hosted at Somerville House, students competed in three divisional competitions – Soccer, Onstage and Rescue.
BBC’s robotics teams were well placed going in the competition having just won three titles at the Robocup Junior World Championships held in Sydney earlier this month.
As a part of STEAM subjects, robotics is strong part of the curriculum in all PMSA schools across the primary and secondary classes. Studying robotics fosters new world capabilities such as creativity, invention, imagination and importantly problem solving.
Stay tuned for our student results at the Queensland Championships in August and the Nationals in Melbourne in October.
