Taking the Leap of Faith

During Queensland Women’s Week, CEO Sharon Callister this morning leapt off the Kangaroo Point cliffs to raise money and awareness for women with perinatal depression.

Breakfast program TODAY covered the White Cloud Foundation’s Leaping Ladies event with last year’s leaping lady and ABC radio presenter and journalist Kat Feeney.

Like many of the busy professionals and CEOs aka ‘Leaping Ladies’, Sharon and Kat hold the cause and helping women in need close to their hearts.

By the time of the leap this morning, more than $12,000 had been raised which will go directly to help the volunteers from the White Cloud Mums Program provide personal support and practical meals to women at risk.

These funds will provide 12 women with 20 meals delivered to their home, phone support, opportunities for social connection and links to additional community services.

A mum and a passionate supporter of women’s programs, Sharon was exhilarated by the experience and humbled by the work of the White Cloud Foundation.

“Perinatal depression affects more women in our community than we know,” said Sharon.

”I’m so honoured to have been invited to take the leap of faith with these amazing fellow women and help mums, bubs and families.”
