PMSA welcomes new staff at orientation

New staff joining the PMSA family were warmly welcomed yesterday at the new staff orientation day, this year held at the beautiful 100 acre campus at Sunshine Coast Grammar School.

Almost 160 new staff from our four great schools including those who have joined during the past 12 months enjoyed the day which began with a devotion service in the Chapel and a getting to know you session on the PMSA’s six values – relationships, care, ethics, personal development, excellence and celebration. Both sessions were moving, thought-provoking and much fun run collaboratively by our four school Chaplains.

Staff also learnt about the PMSA’s rich 100 year history before hearing a detailed session about the PMSA’s and schools’ Child Protection Policy from SCGS Principal Maria Woods.

“Child protection is everyone’s responsibility and is at the core of everything we do,” she said.

Maria’s presentation was followed by former internet detective and well known internet education guru Brett Lee.

A regular speaker at PMSA events and at our schools to staff and students, Brett covered many of the current issues in internet safety, particularly image based abuse and cyber security.
