Staff and students at PMSA schools are conducting many activities to raise funds and are reaching into their own pockets to support struggling farmers in drought stricken areas.
To assist, the PMSA are pleased to pledge $1000 to each PMSA School’s drought relief efforts.
We are very aware that many of our boarding students at Brisbane Boys’ College, Clayfield College and Somerville House are from drought affected rural areas in Australia.
Our four schools are raising thousands of dollars through many activities. Brisbane Boys’ College students holding many activities including cake stalls, BBQs, and raffles. Clayfield College and Sunshine Coast Grammar School are holding ‘Fiver for a Farmer’ free dress days and other fundraising events while Somerville House has held collections from staff, student activities and fundraised through a team in the Bridge to Brisbane.
Funds raised will go to Drought Angels, Buy a Bale, Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Appeal and Hayrunner.
In addition to this donation, the PMSA has also asked our group suppliers and contractors to encourage them to make a donation to one of the four charities that our schools are supporting. So far, more than $3000 has been donated.
As a result, several companies have made sizable donations and we thank them for their generosity.
