PMSA appoints CEO

The PMSA is pleased to announce the appointment of Sharon Callister to the new role of CEO of the PMSA commencing on 21 August.

With outstanding credentials in organisational change and culture development, building relationships and trust, as well as finance and operational management, Sharon will lead the PMSA through the next phase of continuous improvement and change.

Moving from Sydney for the role, Sharon has more than 15 years’ experience managing large multi-million dollar diverse organisations in Australia and overseas.

PMSA Chairman Greg Adsett said she has demonstrated significant leadership skills with expertise in facilitating collaboration and organisational change and a strong governance and risk compliance skill set.

“Sharon is an inspirational and authentic leader who has demonstrated skills of building relationships and trust, organisational growth, and stewardship within critical and politically sensitive environments,” Greg said.

As a CEO, Sharon’s goal is always to lead with a servant heart – with humility and love.

Sharon is driven by her values of humility, compassion, accountability and trust. She cares deeply about education and is passionate about the Christian not for profit sector.

Sharon’s expertise has been widely recognised, selected as a finalist in the 2012 NSW Telstra Business Woman of the Year Awards and one of 100 Women of Influence in the inaugural Westpac – Financial Review Awards.

After 10 years in her previous role as CEO of The Salvation Army Aged Care Plus, Sharon now looks forward to making a meaningful contribution to a new organisation.

“This is a particularly challenging time for the PMSA and I look forward to the opportunity of the new role and the task ahead of me,” Sharon said.

Sharon holds a Bachelor of Health Administration and an MBA from University of Technology Sydney and is a Graduate from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

She is a passionate endurance athlete, having completed many marathons and ultra-marathons.

“As so much of my job is about being mentally strong and well-prepared to achieve outcomes, there are a lot of synergies with running long distances,” Sharon said.
