The Sunshine Coast Grammar School community celebrated the realisation of a long-held dream with the Grand Opening of the Grammar Aquatic Centre on Monday 16 April.
PMSA Chairman Greg Adsett was proud to be a part of the opening celebrations of this fantastic new facility at Sunshine Coast Grammar School.
The centre boasts world class facilities including a 10 lane, 50 metre FINA-certified, heated swimming pool, an enclosed 15 metre Learn to Swim pool, undercover Grandstand seating for 700 visitors, private function area, and café.
“This state-of-the-art facility offers an outstanding resource for the Grammar community, past and present, and a valuable investment into the future to enhance learning opportunities for our students,” said Principal Mrs Maria Woods.
Following a traditional Welcome To Country ceremony, the Grammar Aquatic Centre was officially opened by Sunshine Coast Mayor Cr Mark Jamieson. Grammar students then celebrated the milestone event with a splash, testing the pool waters with a commemorative swim.
The Grammar Aquatic Centre is also an impressive asset for the wider Sunshine Coast community with the Centre’s facilities available to hire, and families from across the Sunshine Coast welcomed to join the Grammar Swim School.
