As 2017 senior students receive tertiary offers throughout Queensland, we congratulate three past students who have been awarded PMSA Teacher Education Scholarships.
Caitlin Caldwell from Clayfield College (2013 – 2017), Laura Campbell from Sunshine Coast Grammar School (2006 – 2016), and Genevieve Laverty from Somerville House (2015 – 2017) will each receive $2000 per year for up to four years as they undertake their teaching degrees.
The scholarships aim to foster a respect for the importance of teaching as a profession, foster Christian faith and values in schools and encourage future teachers who hold Christian beliefs and values, and assist aspiring teachers of Christian conviction to complete an approved teacher education program to enable them to make a difference in the schools they serve.
In 2018, Caitlin will study a Bachelor of Education (Primary), Laura will commence a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood, and Genevieve will study a combined Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts.
Isabel McCall from Clayfield College was our first graduate of the PMSA Teacher Education Scholarship Program completing her degree at the end of 2017.
The PMSA Teacher Education Scholarships are offered to current and past students of PMSA schools. Scholarships are advertised mid-September annually via school newsletters and intranets, and via class and year level announcements.
