Somerville House Year 12 Farewell

Last week was a time of celebration as we farewelled the Year 12 students of Somerville House. During Speech night, we congratulated and acknowledged the many outstanding achievements of our students in 2017. We celebrated the exemplary achievements of the year, and honoured those who have excelled and contributed to the School in 2017.

Friday night’s Valedictory Service was held in honour of our Year 12 students, recognising the contribution they made to the School. Rhiannon H, our 2017 Valedictorian delivered a moving address on behalf of her peers. Reflecting on her time at Somerville House, Rhiannon highlighted:

“Somerville House has given us opportunities to blossom and prosper; to flourish in adversity, to thrive in uncertainty, and to be ready for whatever the future holds.”

While Year 11 student, Emma M, proposed a tribute to the Year 12 students, on behalf of the student body;

“Girls, your time here has been spent in order for you to go into the world with the knowledge, friendship, and faith that Somerville House has given you. Thank you for your example of fine leadership, for your exuberance, and for showing us the way forward.”
