Over the summer holidays, Somerville House 2017 School Captain, Isabelle C and School Vice-Captains, Cailin H and Meg R were invited to participate in the Alliance of Girls’ Schools Australasia Student Leadership Conference.
Designed specifically for young female leaders, the Somerville House student leaders joined with 160 other leaders from independent schools around Australia, New Zealand, Asia, United Kingdom and the USA in a five-day residential conference held at Bond University.
The Captains heard from inspirational speakers including young Australian social entrepreneur Holly Ransom, drone developer and 2015 National Telstra Business Woman of the Year, Corporate and Private Award winner Dr Catherine Ball, and co-founder of Thankyou Group Daniel Flynn.
The program has certainly inspired our Captains and we look forward to seeing the impact that their leadership has on Somerville House and the wider School community this year.
