Scholarships

As a part of the PMSA’s commitment to enabling students to develop their talents, the PMSA offers several scholarships for both current students and past students of PMSA schools.

PMSA Teacher Education Scholarships

The PMSA Teacher Education Scholarships aim to foster a respect for the importance of teaching as a profession, foster Christian faith and values in schools and encourage future teachers who hold Christian beliefs and values, and assist aspiring teachers of Christian conviction to complete an approved teacher education program to enable them to make a difference in the schools they serve.

The scholarships are offered to both current and past students of PMSA schools. Scholarships are advertised mid-September annually via school newsletters and intranets, and via class and year level announcements.  Applications close mid-October with scholarships offered to successful applicants mid-November. Below is the most recent application form. Application forms and information are also available on school websites.

PMSA Indigenous Scholarships

The PMSA Indigenous Scholarships Program aims to assist building the bridges between the indigenous and non-indigenous people of Australia.  As part of the PMSA’s Christian mission of education and social justice, the program aims to:

  • Offer indigenous students opportunities for their own personal growth and their community’s development, through quality education in a Christian school environment;
  • Provide a greater awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, their history, conditions and general welfare and education, among the PMSA schools; and
  • Promote harmonious relationships between indigenous and non-indigenous people and remove racism and negative social attitudes from our school communities and the wider community.

This scholarship funding is provided to each PMSA school. Each school manages how they use the funding – they can either use it to fund one student or several students each year.
